Report of MoU and the future As the FIH moves towards a fresh and stronger relationship with the Continental Federations, a new day is dawning for the African Hockey Federation (AfHF).
It’s a move that potentially could create greater benefits for the AfHF but will add much more responsibility. This of course means that for individual members or National Associations to also benefit they will have to deliver on certain essential actions.
To increase the resources and benefits flowing from the FIH, the AfHF is simply going to have to keep on delivering results based on the performance indicators relating to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the FIH and AfHF.
If we keep consistently delivering good results we can lobby for more resources and more benefits flow to African Hockey.
Many would see this “carrot and stick approach” as being a threat to the way we presently conduct our hockey affairs but in reality it is a fantastic opportunity to grow the game of hockey on our Continent and to improve our hockey standards.
More information on the MoU and which is expected of the AfHF and its member nations will be available soon.
